Winter Solstice Reflection
Briefly stepping away from work today with my family to reflect on this time of stillness...and the emerging light from within.
Wishing you all a very merry solstice. The time when the light reaches its depth into the darkness and re-emerges, whole, to restore life and bring hope and renewal once again.
I apologize for not having come through on my commitment to release a new article every Sunday. If I could write directly from my mind as I go to and fro, it would likely come to pass, but I will refrain from that particular upgrade, thank you. I feel I have a lot to share at this time, but also a great deal of personal and professional commitments to maintain - and oftentimes it seems I can barely do so, despite working every day and most waking hours of each day.
So thank you for your patience and understanding. I appreciate you visiting me and my thoughts here and for all the support you have offered. My approach is often slow and steady (mostly due to being spread thin), but not without productive bursts. So I WILL keep at it and keep writing here for all those who are interested.
My current, unfinished post relates to the eternal struggle between the dark and the light; the perceived struggle, the real struggle, the cosmic interplay between the creative and the destructive. I feel that this time of year (in the northern hemisphere) is a potent time to embrace this duality to bring harmony into our lives.
I’d like to leave you with the above photo of the the sunrise at Bru na Boínne, or Newgrange, along the Boyne Valley in Ireland, at winter solstice.
This phenomenal work of earth and stone has marked with precision this culmination of uniting the male and female principle at the winter solstice sunrise for milennia. When the sun is visible (not always the case in Ireland) at sunrise, the nearly horizontal beams of light from the eastern horizon penetrate deeply into the belly of this ancient creation where healing and harmonious rituals meant to unite humans, Earth, and the cosmos once took place.
Rest in peace with the knowledge that our ancestors once knew and felt this unity with the cosmos and that it will be restored to us in heart and mind once again.
Many blessings to you all - may the light be restored from the depths of your hearts.
During my illness and losing my son, you took such good care of me thru your herbals and advice. I can never thank you enough. I look so forward to your writings and other profound sharing. I pray God blesses you always. You continue to heal and encourage so many. We care about you as you care about us.
Beautiful…thank you for this.
